The National Police on Tuesday announced that it would not detain Cirus Sinaga, a former prosecutor for graft convict Gayus Tambunan, who is charged with judicial corruption.
Cirus would not be put under detention because he had been cooperative, National Police deputy spokesman Sr.Com. Boy Rafli Amar said in his office in Jakarta, as quoted by kompas.com.
Cirus is the only one of 22 judicial corruption suspects in the Gayus case who has not been detained.
Other suspects were detained for a range of alleged crimes including tax manipulation, passport forgery and bribery.
Asked why police had not imprisoned Cirus like the other suspects, Boy said the police were open to criticism.
